Day 3 - Stover Creek Shelter to Hawk Mountian Shelter..... 5 miles

We hiked through a beautiful "Old" forest.  The trees and shade were amazing.  The above picture shows the widest (rare) part of the trail that we have been on so far.  Mostly the trail is a footpath.

This was a huge surprise for us.......  Long Creek Falls.

We thought we saw the falls (not much of a view), but then we came up to the above and had the whole place to ourselves.  The water was C-O-L-D.......  It was a great break halfway through the day.

Late in the day we came across a guy who we called "Lost Guy".  He was going southbound, but thought he was northbound.  Then he told us the shelter was a 1/4 of a mile from us (it was two miles).

A few hours after we got to the shelter, lost guy got there, then left, then came back, then left, then came back to ask us for directions on how to go northbound.  No clue.  I don't even know how he got as far as he did.

(I wonder if he is still out there, lost........)
