Today we hiked 44 miles, woops, I mean 4.4 miles (it only felt like 44). The hike was brutal, simply brutal. The changes in elevations are killer. I think I almost passed out on three seperate occasions.
It's easy to think 10 - 20 miles a day (no big deal). Well maybe in Florida, on flat. Here, now, brutal.
It took us 4 1/2 hours to go 4.4 miles.
Seth had a couple of mini-melt downs, also we had to do a repair to his backpack ( he has opted for external frame and a pin popped out).
I was loving using treking poles, but the elevations, wow!
Andrew (our oldest son) was the hero of the day. True and steady. He did a great job helping Seth and me.
MJ, total trooper.
We followed the above lime green blazes to Len Foote Inn (Hikers Inn).
